Sharp can at least tack on EXIF data. Unsure about whether or not it can read it.

If it can read it, however, ava2.0 should save the original uploaded raw image. When an export is requested, ava should take this raw image, tack on the alt text and source in the MakerNote, and send it back to the user.
If you upload an image to ava, it should extract the EXIF data and try to get the alt text and source from the MakerNote.
